Off to London Fashion Week this past Sunday...whoop...as the official marketing consultant for Fashion Compassion (a socially responsible luxury fashion e-retailer), compliments of one of my most fabulous students.
Entering the Somerset House (with iPhone in hand) -- host to London fashion week -- was a bit surreal I have to admit, but I gathered myself and headed to the reception to register for my pass. It was here I begin to have a Kimora Lee Simons, fabulosity moment.
With pass in hand we sashayed along from room to room. Learning about the many ways to recycle fabrics and rubbish in the ethical fashion exhibition hall - Estethica, with designer Goodone. Swooned over the NewGen Designers (sponsored by Topshop) such as unisex designer Hekki Salonen, a Finish designer in London. Chatted with some regal internationl luxury brands, Buba and attended an exhibit for Lara Bohinc scarves. Gor-ge-ous must haves for the season!
Met some interesting fashionistas along the way. Honestly, my favorite part of London Fashion week is checking out the people in their most fashionably outrageous wear. Gotta love London fashion--creative and innovative to say the least.
The only dissappointment of the evening--standing in line for 30 minutes to attend a runway show (OSMAN), which you have tickets, to only be told "the room is over capacity and no more guests are allowed in". Ugh! Who was the PR company responsible for this? Not a good look, but things happen. However, it is situations like these I recommend live-streaming--no lines, no hassle and no full capacity rooms.
Great experience and good time. Thanks Ayesha (owner of Fashion Compassion, below).

| Unfortunately, it was cold upon leaving. Otherwise you would be able to see my 70's inspired gear (all the rave for S/S '11). But peep my Cut n' Paste bag - compliments of Shervin, designer. |
