Fashion fetish: Kloom and Tick Tock

In Indonesia's vast land of opportunity, you will often find street stalls; skillful sales people; cheap deals; counterfeit 'anything'; diamonds-in-the-rough; emerging artist; and not so struggling designers. Honestly, I believe this is the only place in the world were fashion and interior designers/stylist can possibly turn a profit in the first year. Yep, all of my students believe they will be rich as stylist and designers right after graduation.  And they may be on to something.

With that said, as my fashion fetish continues, check out my new fave brands - Kloom and Tick Tock. Kloom is a contemporary shoe brand specializing in clogs. But this fall/winter Kloom has sprung up some mighty fantastic wooden-platform pumps and sandals. I am swooning over this black peep-toe and have even emailed the owner for a custom pair, fit-to-size. Yes, we have it like that in Jakarta - don't hate, just appreciate and place your order too. You can find Kloom in Plaza Indonesia (small area on the 2nd floor and an unknown retail shop on Level 1 of Grand Indonesia - I am currently trying to locate it).

Tick Tock is a cute-see refurbished and antique-inspired home accessories and nick knack store. From Audrey Hepburn 1950's inspired lunch boxes to antique book holders and phones such as this one (below). I am a sucker for most things vintage and plan to have an antique phone sitting atop my new desk soon. But what is so special about this one? Well open the box under the handset and it reveals a touch-tone pad and caller-id screen. Love it, want it! You can find Tick Tock in Plaza Indonesia (small stand) and Grand Indonesia.
