Oslo, Norway is slowly becoming my third country home. With its serene fjords, fresh air, crystal waters, great food, small town feel and the loveliest people ever, it is no wonder I am so taken with this place.
Since it is not my first time in Norway (third time to be exact) I definitely didn't mind the very wet weather which prevailed for the majority of the weekend. An Opera house tour gave me inspiration to dance and perform; not to mention a bit of history for this unique architectural gem and culture center which was 50 years in planning before it came into existence. The water sculpture out front is shaped like a glacier and the inside wood panelling was inspired by the flow of water.
However, the best fish and chips I ever had put on at least 5 lbs. of pure goodness - http://www.fiskehallen.no/english.html. Not to mention I was introduced to a desert cognac that would must make heads turn.
A bike ride in Oslo is a must when the sun pops out. The streets are very pedestrian friendly and the roads are not too over-shadowed with traffic.
I've decided a yearly visit to Oslo for a bit of love, food, friends and activity is a must so next year I am thinking a cross- country ski trip in the winter is a must. Can't wait.
