Jakarta Designer spotlight: Danjyo-Hiyoji

Edgy, nouveau, avant-garde, romantic and risk taking are just some ways to describe the designs of Danjyo - Hiyoji as well as its co-owner and Business Director Dana Maulana, who I just met recently at a Fashion business seminar at Binus International University. Dana impressed me with his business model for a successful fashion line for men and women, along with his signature style and personality.

Danjyo, meaning women, launched as a local Indonesian label in 2000, but joined forces with Hiyoji, meaning men, in 2009. Now Danjyo-Hiyoji has a successful flagship store in the largest and one of the most grandest malls in Central Jakarta - Grand Indonesia. They also retail in several stores in Singapore and Bandung. I expect to see big things happening with this brand and look forward to have a one-on-one chat with Dana and his partners, Syarifah Liza Mashita and Adjoin Rama Adrianus Dauhan, very soon. So watch this space.
