Niche Nails

If you know me than you know I am one lazy chica when it comes to doing my own nails. I believe there are brilliantly creative individuals who are well-trained to do them for me so why should I bother. However, now that I am focusing my full-time career efforts on self-employment, I figure there is no better time to become a budget fashionista than now. Sadly, bi-weekly nail salon visits have been scratched to once a month or as needed. So what is a girl to do, start searching online for cool, salon finished nail polishes with stop traffic colors. My search brought me to two websites I am loving: Scrangie and Ninja Polish.

Scrangie is a self-confessed 'Lacquerhead', in laymen terms - obsessed with nail polish. She features nail polish like fashion week trends and off-the-runway designer collections. But I love it. Not to mention, she gives a heads up on non-commercial nail polish brands such as Jessica - who's 2012 Summer collection was to die for.

Well she just announced OPI's new Holiday collection - which was inspired by 007 and the new film Skyfall. Take a peek.

Live and Let Die will probably be my holiday go-to color (see below).

Ninja Polish is a nail polish e-tail site featuring 'Indie' or non-commercial brand nail polish, including their own brand. This is were I feel in love with Layla's Mudhattan, Italian Blue Sky and Jade it All.

And you will simply swoon over A-England brand polish...this is one of my favorites but there are many more. Which leads me to introduce you to the Polish Aholic - I think the name says it all. Search for your favorite nail polish by brand, color or finish. Yep she thought of it all.

As the saying goes, if you can't beat them, find a niche - well that is how my saying goes - and these bloggers and e-tailer have done the trick. Branching out to fashionistas everywhere with the growing popularity of nail varnish as a must-have fashion statement. Kudos. Why didn't I think of this.
