Although I am a little late (okay maybe 6 days but who's counting), I just had to share with you the excellence of Esperanza Spaulding in concert at the
Queen Elizabeth Hall, Southbank Centre. From her classic sounds, melodic voice mixed with jazz tones and afro beats; she is truly redefining modern music today. A bassist/vocalist/composer, Esperanza is a force to be reckoned with. I give kudos to her and the seven-piece band which made my night truly amazing.

"Their graceful themes, mostly her own, included Very Small and the superb Apple Blossom from her current album, Chamber Music Society. And a handful of standards — Djindji, a charming bossa-nova duet with Parlato, a stormy Wild is the Wind, and Midnight Sun, a stunning encore for solo voice and double-bass — affirmed her solid-gold mainstream credentials." ~ The London Evening Standard
